The new Narwhal combat module, developed by Elektroshina, is being installed on military ships, marking a significant advancement in coastal defense.
The module has been designed with cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence, and was produced in record time to meet a government contract. The first units have already been assembled and successfully tested in Sevastopol.
The new version of the Narwhal offers a broader range of functions and improved features. It is equipped with a new high-resolution sight, an upgraded control unit, and a modernized computing module. The design has also been enhanced to offer greater security. With integrated artificial intelligence, the system can automatically detect and shoot down helicopters, missiles, and drones, boosting the military fleet’s defense capabilities.
The Narwhal was originally designed for Russia’s next-generation warships but will also be exported. Equipped with a remotely controlled 12.7mm “Kord” machine gun, the module includes day and night vision cameras, an automatic target tracking system, a thermal imager, and radar for threat detection.
In the first phase, the Narwhal will be installed on light coastal defense ships, with future plans to adapt it for larger vessels and even battlecruisers like the ‘Pyotr Velikiy’. Production has been carried out in near-continuous shifts in Elektroshina’s specialized laboratories, with collaboration from the design and technology departments of Elektromashina.
